FAQ's (SAP)

WHAT IS SAP?

The Skill Acquisition Program (SAP) is an elite competition (run by Football Queensland) for junior boys and girls aged U9 to U12 who wish to advance beyond local club football and play against representative teams from other regions in South East Queensland. Skill Acquisition Program provides young players with a positive and challenging football environment, while preparing players to progress into FQPL & NPL Junior competitions.


WHAT TEAMS MAKE UP SAP?

The SAP competition in South East Queensland will be split into North and South divisions. The teams who Sunshine Coast Wanderers will be facing and the regularity of matches is yet to be confirmed by Football Queensland.


WHAT AGES WILL SAP COVER?

Sunshine Coast Wanderers will field SAP teams for Junior boys in the under 9, 10, 11 and 12, plus girls teams in under 9/10 and 11/12.


HOW often will SAP teams play?

The regularity of matches in the SAP competition is yet to be confirmed by Football Queensland.
 

HOW FAR WITHIN QUEENSLAND WILL TEAMS NEED TO TRAVEL?

The SAP competition in South East Queensland will be split into North and South divisions. The teams who Sunshine Coast Wanderers will be facing is yet to be confirmed by Football Queensland.
 

HOW are coaches selected?

Coaches are carefully pre-selected and well credentialed, with each coach holding a minimum of an FFA/AFC C Youth Licence to ensure a quality standard of coaching for all teams and players. Please see the Coaches & Contacts (SAP) page for more information about coaches currently selected for Sunshine Coast Wanderers in 2018. More coaches and details will be released in due course. 


WILL THE SUNSHINE COAST WANDERERS HAVE OTHER TEAMS?

The Sunshine Coast Wanderers has secured a FQPL licence for boys under 13 through to senior mens, plus NPL Womens licence for the girls under 13 through to senior women.


WHEN AND HOW CAN I TRIAL TO BE SELECTED FOR THE SUNSHINE COAST WANDERERS SQUAD?

Sunshine Coast Wanderers have a range of trials commencing in October 2017. Please see the trials page for specific dates.


I CURRENTLY PLAY FOR ANOTHER CLUB THAT IS NOT BUDERIM WANDERERS FC. CAN I TRIAL FOR THE SUNSHINE COAST WANDERERS AND WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM NOT SELECTED?

For the Sunshine Coast Wanderers and football on the Sunshine Coast to be a success, we need to attract the best players, coaches and football minded people on the Coast and players from all Sunshine Coast clubs are encouraged to trial. Should you not be successful in being selected as part of the 2018 season for the Sunshine Coast Wanderers, we encourage you to return to your local club, enjoy your football and develop your skills. We hope that you return to trial again for the following season.
 

HOW MUCH WILL THE REGISTRATION FEES BE & what will they include?

SAP Boys Program (incorporating Roar APC)

This program includes:
- Training in school terms 1, 2 & 3 in 2018.
- Three training sessions per week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday for 1 hour 15 mins – excluding public holidays.
- Games in FQ SAP Boys League 
- Access to Roar pathway, Talent Id and coach development
- Roar membership and tickets
- Roar training kit including two shirts, two shorts, two socks, rain jacket & bag 

Cost of program - $935 (incl GST) for registration fees plus $200 (incl GST) for the Roar Training Kit.
